or call us at: 847-295-6655 Vision Quest Coaching is a dynamic, hands on, fully involved coaching program designed to provide direct interaction between the athletes and the coach for triathletes and cyclists. To better understand how the VQ program works and to ensure the athlete understands their commitment to make it successful we provide this "Vision Quest / Service Commitment". As with any program or partnership - coaching with Vision Quest is a 2 way street. Vision Quest Coaching commitment to the athlete: 1. Coaching visits: Regular face to face interaction with your assigned coach. The VQ facilities will have a minimum of once or twice monthly visit from there VQ assigned coach and occasional visits from Robbie Ventura. In addition a USCF certified coach and facility manager would be available at all workouts to provide advice and mentoring to all athletes. VQ coaches will communicate weekly with each of their assigned athletes via e-mail and or phone calls. 2. Training plans: Customized-training plans are an essential component in achieving individual success in athletes meeting their goals. At Vision Quest your plan is not only customized for each individual, based on goals & objectives, but it can also be modified at any time to meet the athletes changing needs. All current Vision Quest athletes will receive their training plan in a timely fashion on or before the previous plans runs out. Tri-athletes will have training plans including swimming and running combined with cycling. 3. Weekly VQ schedule: Group training rides will be available every week with specific objectives in mind. Updates will be posted regularly in case of bad weather or changes to the schedule. 4. Facilities: Vision Quest will provide a private facility for the athletes to meet and workout(presently we have 4 locations Lake Bluff, Chicago, St. Charles, and Bloomington, IL). In addition VQ will provide all essential equipment and apparatus needed to perform assigned workouts. 5. Race support: At each VQ event will be a tent, water and supplies along with coaches to provide pre and post race advice and debriefing. Announcements prior to events will be made to all VQ athletes to take advantage of this service. Some of our Sponsors include, Red Bull, Gatorade, and Clif Bar. What we expect from all of our athletes: 1. Submitting data & Information: For the coach to properly understand the athletes needs in training it is the responsibility of the athlete to communicate with his / her coach weekly. Power files should be discussed weekly along with information about the previous weeks training / race results. Report any injuries or problems immediately. This is a crucial element of the coach/athlete relationship to communicate with each other and document there progress each week. 2. Athlete’s equipment: You will need a good quality road or TT bike. Vision Quest provides members with special discounts on power meters. 3. Commit to your plan: The best training plan is one that you are committed to doing. If you miss workouts or choose other activities then understand that you may fall behind meeting your goals and objectives. VQ and your coach will work together with you to reach new heights – make sure you do your part. 4. Communication: Let a coach or Robbie know if you have a concern with something at VQ. Your coach will initiate communication with you a minimum of once a week. We want to make this a great experience for you and your feedback will help make that happen. 5. Group motivation: One of the key benefits in training and working out with other athletes like you are motivation and camaraderie. Provide mentoring or be mentored by someone who knows. Share your knowledge with others and work as a group to motivate each other. Most of all HAVE FUN!!!!!
