Why do you coach?
For the personal interactions with athletes in helping them meet their goals and enjoy the sport, seeing VQ athletes achieve their own individual successes with my guidance, helping athletes overcome major obstacles to realize their goals and working with widely diverse athletic abilities and talents to meet individual accomplishments.

Most memorable moment as a coach?
VQ Camp 2008, observing Reid Hansen & Steve Heine reach new heights and exceed their camp goals.

Coaching Accomplishments (of your athletes and as a professional):
I enjoy seeing athletes succeed and have fun, helping injured athletes get back on track, taking a personal interest in athletes' lives to better understand how to help them succeed in their goals and keeping athletes motivated and excited about the sport.

Personal Achievements:
Making the transition from a novice racer in 2003 after attending my first VQ camp to becoming a USCF Certified Coach in 2007. Numerous podiums in all three disciplines, Masters Nationals (TT/Crit/RR) in 2006, three-time ABR TTT Champion.

Why do you work for Vision Quest Coaching?
To give back to the sport I am passionate about and help other athletes realize their goals. Vision Quest is the best place to coach because of the “hands on” interaction with the athletes and the high energy provided by Robbie. Also, to pay forward the knowledge and excitement so others also may be inspired to follow.

Favorite Pastime When Not Training or Coaching:
Spending time with my wife, Sue, traveling anywhere to experience other cultures and history, gardening, University of Illinois sports, spending time with friends and just hanging out and relaxing.
