Why do you coach?
I enjoy teaching—passing on my knowledge and experience. It also keeps me current in terms of equipment, training philosophy, etc. I like the science of human performance and exercise physiology.
Most Memorable Moment as a Coach:
Having an athlete PR in every race of one season
Coaching Accomplishments:
IM personal bests—overall and in all 3 sports; Boston Marathon qualification; first-time IM completion
Personal Achievements:
• IM New Zealand: 10:20
• Several victories and top 10 finishes in cycling road races, criteriums & velodrome events
Why do you work for Vision Quest Coaching?
The knowledge and support I get from other coaches and the dedicated and hardworking athletes help me be a better coach and athlete. I believe in the training and racing philosophy at VQ.
Favorite pastime when not training or coaching:
Eating, reading, and sleeping (preferably in that order).
